Om Pom Happy is 2 years old today and I would like to take this moment to thank all of my lovely thousands of followers and visitors and those of you who send me such encouraging messages offering nice words about my posts. I really do appreciate all of you very much and it is you who make it all worth while. And now I would like to invite you to join me. Due to crippling migraines that I suffer every week and that sometimes see me hospitalised I cannot hold down a regular job. That’s why Om Pom was born. To give me a focus that incorporates my passion and I now put 20+ hours into posting, researching and promoting Om Pom every week. But paying the £85 blog renewal fee today was hard. I really don’t want to take on corporate advertisers as that’s not what Om Pom is about. It’s about showcasing amazing emerging and little known artists and designers and that’s why I would like to work with you, giving you a platform to show your work. My thoughts and hopes are that I can bring together many small people and give them a united platform, with strength in numbers. And that we can all help each other.
If you would like to participate I am opening an ‘OM POM SHOPS’ page where you are welcome to advertise your work and website. The fee for this will be a modest £15 a month as I know many creative folk don’t have a huge income. ($19USD / 18 euros). The SHOPS page will follow the format of the ART, DESIGN, and HOME TOURS pages i.e. you will get a square image for visitors to click on which will take you to a page showing 4 more images and information about you and your work. This can then link to your website or email address. I get thousands of visitors from all over the world so you will have a wide audience. It is open to artists, but also designers and makers who make things for the home as a lot of my visitors are interested in interiors, and anyone working in ‘out of the box’ or sustainable fashion. If this sounds like you then please contact me, Cand Juskus, at ompomhappy@gmail.com for which there is a direct link in the CONTACT page. I hope to emulate the particularly good SHOP format of another site. You can see it HERE to get more of an idea.
I do so hope to hear from you. Next week I will be sharing with you the home and work of a wonderful Canadian, surrealist sculptor so I look forward to seeing you then. In the meantime some of you will recognise the feature image as Nanny, Small Bears and Bogeyman by Paula Rego. I love Rego. She’s so straight talking and funny and sad and fearful all at the same time and is not afraid to say so. I recently came across these magical little videos, one of her in her studio and the other talking about her fears. I usually only post one video, but as we are 2 today I thought I’d post both. Enjoy…
